Get a Holiday-Ready Smile with a New Dental Crown
A new dental crown can restore your smile just in time for the holidays. Discover how crowns repair damaged teeth, improve confidence, and help you enjoy the season with comfort.

The holidays are a time of joy, photos, family gatherings, and plenty of delicious foods. If you’ve been hiding your smile because of a damaged, worn, or discolored tooth, this season offers the perfect opportunity to refresh your confidence.

More than 25% of adults in the United States have untreated dental caries, with many more affected by other unsightly tooth problems. Whether you’re preparing for holiday photos or simply want to feel more comfortable when you eat and speak, a crown can make a big difference.

At Fremaux Dental Care, we help patients restore their smiles with strong, natural-looking dental crowns that blend beautifully with their other teeth.

Why dental crowns matter

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that we fit over your natural tooth. Dentists use crowns to protect weakened teeth, improve appearance, and restore normal function. They’re one of the most reliable ways to address damage while keeping as much of your natural tooth as possible.

Patients often choose crowns for the following reasons:

  • Cracked or chipped teeth
  • Large fillings that no longer support the tooth
  • Significant decay that a simple filling can’t fix
  • Worn-down enamel
  • Discoloration or misshapen teeth
  • Tooth sensitivity caused by damage

Crowns strengthen the tooth, protect it from further harm, and restore its natural shape and color. You get a healthier smile, and often more confidence too.

How a crown improves your holiday season

The holiday season offers many opportunities to show your smile. A dental crown helps you enjoy these moments without worry:

Feel confident in photos

Whether you’re posing for family pictures or taking selfies with friends, a crown can give you a brighter, more complete smile. Because crowns look like natural teeth, no one will know the difference.

Eat your favorite holiday foods comfortably

Damaged teeth often make chewing painful or difficult. A well-fitted crown lets you enjoy crunchy cookies, warm meals, and seasonal treats without hesitation.

Speak clearly and comfortably

A damaged tooth can affect how you pronounce certain words. A crown restores proper structure, so you speak with ease during conversations, parties, and gatherings.

Prevent further damage

Leaving a cracked or decayed tooth untreated can lead to more serious problems. A crown acts as a shield, providing your tooth with long-term protection.

What to expect during the crown process

At Fremaux Dental Care, we design crowns to fit your unique smile and guide you through each step of the procedure.

Step 1: Your evaluation

We start with an exam to assess the tooth and determine whether a crown is the best option. We may take X-rays to evaluate the tooth roots and surrounding bone.

Step 2: Preparing the tooth

We gently shape the tooth so the crown can fit securely. If the tooth has significant decay, we remove the damaged areas first to create a strong foundation for the crown.

Step 3: Taking impressions

We take digital scans and upload them to a computer-design program. This creates a blueprint for a custom crown that matches your bite, shape, and color.

After confirming the outline, we upload it to our CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic) machine, which uses the design to fabricate a custom dental crown from a ceramic block.

Step 4: Placing your new crown

Once the custom crown is ready, we place it, check the fit, and adjust it so it feels comfortable. Then we bond it securely to your natural tooth. You leave the office with a restored, natural-looking smile.

Crowns are also used to cover dental implants in patients with missing teeth. If you lose a tooth, you need to undergo the implantation process first before we fit your crown.

Caring for your crown

Dental crowns last for years with proper care. You can keep yours strong and healthy by:

  • Brushing twice a day
  • Flossing daily
  • Avoiding chewing ice or hard candy
  • Limiting sugary snacks
  • Visiting us for routine checkups and cleanings

Good habits support both your crown and your natural teeth.

When to consider a crown before the holidays

A crown might be right for you if:

  • You feel embarrassed about a chipped, cracked, or discolored tooth
  • You have pain or sensitivity when eating
  • Your tooth has a large filling that’s breaking down
  • Your dentist has recommended a crown to prevent further damage
  • You want to upgrade your smile before the holiday season

A crown can refresh your appearance and protect your oral health as you head into the new year, so now is a great time to act if you’ve been putting off dental treatment.
